Hemorrhagic Fevers: a basic primer

When I was a Medical Officer at NIH/NIAID (2009-2011), one of my responsibilities was the research oversight of a portfolio containing diagnostics and medical countermeasures projects for the Hemorrhagic Fevers. We cooperated with the military at Walter Reed Research Institute to identify and mitigate the risks faced by soldiers in-country.

Later I went on to write the Vampire Chimeras Medical Thriller series. In 2013, I published Book 1, featured Dengue fever.
Vampire Chimera Book 2 - Bat Cave - featured Marburg. I completed its First Draft in early 2014, but when I saw my *fictional* plots being reported in the news, in real life, I shelved it. Put the whole project on hold.
