New prohormones found, will compete with GLP1s
Peptide screening with AI, bioassays and animal testing. PREMIUM CONTENT subscriber access
My past newsletters often reported news related to the peptide hormone, Glucagon-Like Peptide 1:
Many labs are searching for more compounds to bring into the obesity/metabolism pharma space. Active drug discovery efforts are bearing fruit.
My past newsletter describes the process of screening and selecting candidates for development:
Recently researchers used computational drug discovery methods to examine 2,600+ human proteolytic peptide fragments generated by Prohormone Convertase 1/3 ( PCSK1/3) which produces GLP-1. They then screened the top candidates with relevant bioassays and animal testing.
I also report on the progress in development of novel lipidized analogues of another neuropeptide involved in obesity.
