Reflections … on a another completed year of substacks
“Is there any hope for rehabilitation? Rebuild trust in what once was a noble career? Maybe. Only when the disinfecting light of transparency and truth is shown upon the whole dirty despicable mess, can we start the process.
That is what I promise I will bring to these newsletters.” - Nov 2020
“Going forward into the next year, I will keep my promise and, in addition, pledge to reimagine a science and medicine world where integrity and respect reigns.” - Nov 2021
I was an early adopter of the substack platform, so relieved to find a place that would allow me the freedom of speech, guaranteed by our Constitution. Kinda tip-toed into the fray, while watching a tsunami of talented, passionate writers wash over onto this raft. Pandemic news was well-covered by these many others. So I felt it okay to hand off the baton, let others carry the torch for awhile. When I could add in relevant content, I chimed in via their comment sections, and enjoyed the interactions. Met lots of new subscribers that way.
In the past year, I published 53 newsletters … about one per week. Roughly the mix was 60% freebie and 40% PREMIUM content that went into the subscriber side of the newsletter behind the very modest cost of the paywall. I covered widely varied topics, from human consciousness, to biophysics of cellular membranes, to plastic trash eaters. If there was commercial potential, I put it on the paywall side. If there was global impact potential meeting a general need, then I sent it out as a freebie. BioMedWorks’ archive now has more than 100 newsletters/topics to peruse. When possible, I link related reports to give a deeper picture. All these substacks still remain topical and relevant; they don’t go ‘out of date’.
Where do we go from here?
When jumping horses, we were always told that you land where you look … so search ahead for the horizon! Good advice to follow in other areas of life too. It’s no fun getting dumped into the mud.
I am eager to leave behind the chaotic corrupt deceptive ‘science’ world. As we root out the bad players and disclose their lies, we need to keep in our minds, with what will we replace it? The void will quickly fill up again with nefarious characters unless we remain alert and skeptical. We need to actively build a framework with checks and balances. And most of all, TEACH the next generation our traditions of excellence.
“This you may say of man - when theories change and crash, when schools, philosophies, when narrow dark alleys of thought, national, religious, economic, grow and disintegrate, man reaches, stumbles forward, painfully, mistakenly sometimes. Having stepped forward, he may slip back, but only half a step, never the full step back.”
― John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath
“I tried to instead find inspiring, clever, encouraging innovations in science, medicine and engineering. Whenever possible, I endeavoured to connect the dots from disparate areas into a new whole picture. I wanted to recognize those who followed their ideals and honored the trust placed in them.” - Nov 2021
My lifelong passion is the pursuit of discovery, finding answers and solutions to enigmas. I am continuously learning new information, chewing on it, and digesting it into my body of knowledge. I see similar traits in a few special others, and so I bring their accomplishments to these newsletters. This is my way to maintain our hopes and aspirations - to point out how magnificent we can be.
“Man, unlike any other thing organic or inorganic in the universe, grows beyond his work, walks up the stairs of his concepts, and emerges ahead of his accomplishments.”
― John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath
Again, I do want to express my deep gratitude to the paid subscribers, and especially my Founder donors, who subsidize the freebie newsletters. They kept me going these past two years, and now onwards into the future …
… all the while revelling in the beauty of nature that surrounds me.
I've got 100-foot pine trees
That just love to dance in the wind
And a yard full of bushes
That turn into pie in July
Between blue jays and hoot owls
I've got 24-hour singing sky
BMW, I wanted to comment on the tinnitus article you wrote (not a paid subscriber). I developed a case of low level tinnitus after receiving two similtaneous seperate doses of antibiotics for a wasp sting that got infected. Within several weeks, i noticed this low level white noise. The doctor group who administered the antibiotics admitted this can happen. Over the years, I have come to live with it and has receded into the background. I know that one of the declared adverse side affects among thousands to the see nineteen vxx is tinnitus.
After barely surviving hospital covid protocols I am given a little more hope that the truth of the covid scam that has been the cause of millions of deaths and crippling's around the world will be known for the demented crime that it is and all involved from producing, planning and implementing it will be held to account. All who lost their careers because they could do no harm and live with themselves must be commended and when the system is again in control of moral people be put in charge of the entire system. I have for many years tried to explain that the medical system was highjacked by truly demented evil back in 1900 with John D Rockefeller and Simon Flexner introduced petrol chemicals as drugs for the sake of mass wealth a the expense of the health and life of the population. True evil. I take my hat off to you and all who lost their jobs because you could not knowingly harm.
